Conestoga’s girls’ lacrosse team came away with a close victory Tuesday night, edging Central League rival Harriton 9-7 in the District 1 semifinal match. Juniors Catie Smith and Meghan McGillis led the Pioneers in scoring with three goals each. The Pioneers will meet third-seeded Radnor in the District 1 final, which is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at West Chester East High School (Girls’ bracket).
The reigning PIAA State Champion boys’ lacrosse team rolled to yet another comfortable victory Tuesday, beating neighbor Great Valley 12-6 in the district semifinals. Sophomore Jake Scott sparked the Pioneers’ offense, racking up five goals on the night. The team will advance to the District 1 championship game and face off against Garnet Valley, a team they beat 5-4 in OT earlier this month. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Radnor High School (Boys’ bracket).
