Coming off their week of spring break practices, the Conestoga crew team raced in flick four of the Manny-Hovart Series on April 15 and won many races.

The boys novice boats raced first. Freshmen Steven Devlin and Tyler Simpson won the boys novice double event. Following them in the boys freshman double were Max Malarkey and Niall Carlson who also had a first place finish. In the boys JV double, sophomores Sean Pepin and junior Quentin Backstrom came in fourth. The boys JV quad with sophomores Jared Ingersoll, Andrey Lanahan, Nathan Leibowitz and junior Brian Kane raced to first place. The boys varsity double also won with seniors Stetson Miller and Larry Caldwell. In the hair-splitting boys varsity quad race, seniors Ben Morosse, Cuyler Hamilton, Michael DiLucca and Nick Nalbone won and were just .39 seconds off of the second place boat.
Junior Molly Dudrear started the ‘Stoga girls racing in the afternoon with a first place finish in the girls novice single event. Freshmen Emma Holt, Katherine Dempsey, Maddie Beirne and Angela Sarkisian raced next and won in the girls novice quad. The girls freshman quad with freshmen Amy Connell, Kelly Johnson, Isabel Geddes and Anna Zibinski also won.
The girls’ novice squad also won their race.
In the girls JV double event, sophomore Brianna Kaufmann and junior Mary Kate Lyons placed fourth. Both the girls JV quad, with sophomore Ashley Lexow and juniors Lara Dorfman, Liesel Johantgen,and Maddie Amsterdam, and girls lightweight quad, with sophomores Katie Groves, Emer Ryle, Sophie Bodek and Liz Klotzbach, won their event. Senior Kelly Murphy crossed the finish line in third in the girls varsity single. Later, the girls varsity double with seniors Ali Siegele and Nicole DeStefano raced and won. The girls varsity quad also placed first with sophomores Annie Graf, Maddy Tessier-Kay, Rebecca Simonetti and Meagan Hudson.
The Conestoga crew team continues racing next weekend in both the Mercer Lake Sprints in Mercer, New Jersey and the fifth and final flick of the Manny-Hovart Series.
