In 2 OT, Girls Lose to Ridley

Posted on 05 May 2009 by newsdesk

On Saturday May, 2 the girls took on Ridley home on Teamer Field.
After both teams’ seniors received their rightly deserved recognition, they went into action and played one of the closest games possibly. Rarely did one team lead by more than one goal. In the last few seconds of regulation, Conestoga scored to tie it up, 10-10. With two minutes left in the first overtime, Ridley scored. However, the goal was soon retracted by the referees and Conestoga was awarded the ball. The clock ran out before a goal could be scored, and both teams went into the second overtime where Ridley scored with 22 seconds left on the clock. After some confusion between the referees, the goal was counted and Ridley ended up victorious, 10-11.
